Ankara Pride
The Blacktown Shorts film festival in September was a very first for Blacktown Arts. The event was so successful that the films from the festival are now screening on a loop until this coming Saturday, 19 October. Ankara Pride is one of the many films that are currently in the cycle.
MAGNIFY LAUNCHES
Last Saturday, The Western was given the honour to attend the debut of MEMORY in Mt. Druitt. Talented artist Ursula Yovich supported by local band Gii. Ursula performed a collective of powerful songs that reflect and celebrate the Baabayn Aboriginal Community. These Stories explore the often overlooked narratives that uphold Indigenous Australian history - tales of trauma, pain, and love.

The Stonecutters hosted their first official market on the 28th of July. Kevin Guanzon, the founder of this initiative, spoke highly of community and creativity. He dreamt of a space where people can come together and create - and now the dream has become a reality.
