THE LISTENING PARTY FINALE: HOOLIGAN HEFS

High school lunches for my mates and I involved sitting around a bluetooth speaker on the hill, critiquing the latest hip-hop bangers. Swap the hill for a legit studio, the mini JBL for an actual JBL sponsorship (more on this later), and my mates (sorry guys) for some of the brightest characters in the Western Sydney scene and you end up with The Listening Party AU (@thelisteningpartyau); a reaction show highlighting the very best of Australia’s emerging hip-hop scene.

Despite starting only two months ago, the show has garnered widespread attention for its high production quality and genuine cast dynamic. With such a diverse lineup, the show is able to bring together a refreshing spectrum of perspectives  in a harmonious fashion (peep the series opener for more). Led by director Waylon Houston (@waylonhouston) and backed by DJ K-Time (@dj_ktime), The Listening Party AU promises a curated snapshot of the vibrant Aussie music scene. The show usually spotlights one artist per episode, allowing the cast to get a feel for each featured artist’s discography, unlike the mayhem of rapid-fire reaction channels.

With the current season coming to a close, The Listening Party AU is gearing up for its grand finale featuring a selection of tracks from the Doonside Don himself, HooliganHefs (@hooliganhefs). With the momentum of the entire series behind the show, this JBL-sponsored episode promises to be the most tantalising yet. Brush off those TN’s and tighten those bumbags, ‘cause with a seven track hit list spanning the likes of IYKYK and No Effect, this finale is bound to be massive.

So why should you tune in to The Listening Party AU? It’s simple. With their unfiltered reactions, good company, and the JBL mini, they take me back to the hill. What more could you ask for?

Watch The Listening Party here and catch the finale on June 13th.
