[REVIEW] TRU - Lose You
We are mesmerised by TRU’s new track Lose You.
Singer, songwriter, producer, and sound engineer TRU (Sara Tamim) is one of many female artists on the rise in the Western Sydney. Her previous track has featured on FBI Radio, Triple J’s Unearthed, and on ABC’s Halal Gurls.
Sara’s new track will leave you reflecting and appreciating what you have now. Her angelic voice puts you into a dream-like state.
In this track, she expresses her fear of losing someone, and explores the anticipation of something happening and the intricacies of loss. The soothing track was made in less than 20 minutes, and what was originally a long awaited hang out soon turned into a creative collaboration with fellow Westie local artist Clarissa Mei.
‘I remember Clarissa laying down the main synth, and from there all the lyrics and melody came to me easily like subconscious drawl.’ Sara explains.
Sara’s music aims to empower with women. Outside of writing music, she is also a part of the New Age Noise Collective. This incredible cohort meets on a weekly basis at the Information & Cultural Exchange in Parramatta, and their ethos is to encourage and promote young trans, non-binary, and female-identifying individuals in the Western Sydney music community who feel overwhelmed by the male-dominated music scene.
