LAUREN - YO MOUF
Lauren (@lauren.sgs) is a Western Sydney based Brisbane born rapper who has already racked up a stunning media presence. Her latest release Cross The Line was a hit on Spotify, Apple Music, and Triple J, even securing a spot in the Spotify playlist The Drip and New Music Friday AU&NZ. 2019 was her breakout year, but 2020 looks like it’s going to be her year.
Even though she has only released four singles, she is well on her way to a successful career. Lauren has a refreshing futuristic flavour that we never knew we needed. She is able to conquer and destroy the divide between American and Australian music. With artists like her, the only distinguishing factors should be ‘where you live’.
Her expressive female sexual energy drips from her music and style with a ‘bad bitch’ vibe that hypes you up. Her voice has the power of letting you know you’re a ‘strong independent woman’.
‘I am so impatient yet unbelievably grateful for the future art I am going to be making and dropping this year. With all of the support so far and also individually breaking down a bunch of dumb barriers I once had. I now feel so alive and ready for 2020.’ Lauren says on her Instagram early in February.
Lauren has already been fished up by Niche Productions - an Australian touring company dedicated to creating opportunities for artists in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and other countries. She has also toured alongside Cult Shotta, Ivan Ooze, and Nerve, and has worked with a bunch of local talents such as Kwame, Raj Mahal and Korky Buchek.
Lauren is coming out with a new track on Thursday, 12 March, which will be titled Yo Mouf. The song dominates your ears with her fierce lyrics, and her girl boss sound will have you listening to the song again. Lauren is a trend-setter and enthusiastic exemplar that you need to explore as she gets bigger.
‘I am ready for what is next, filled with love & respect for the ones around me.’ Lauren posts.
Stay tuned on her Instagram for track release updates!
