Truth To Power Cafe - Riverside Theatres, Parramatta (March 11-13)
Truth To Power Cafe is a profound theatrical reflection on loss, hope and resistance, told through memoir, image, poetry, music, and live and spontaneous testimony from participants with stories to tell in response to the question - Who has power over you and what do you want to say to them?
People of all ages, beliefs and backgrounds are invited to take part in this internationally acclaimed performance event and digital platform. Speaking truth to power is a non-violent means of conflict resolution, the origins of which lie in the anti-war movement. In our era of post-truth, and fake-news, speaking truth to power is widely accepted to mean saying something to those in a position of trust who don’t want to hear it.
Is it to your parents, a sibling, politician, lover, landlord, neighbour, religious leader, boss, banker, or simply your best friend? It’s time to tell them the truth, before it’s too late.
Hailing from the United Kingdom, creators Jeremy Goldstein and Henry Woolf, and director Jen Heyes, have brought this concept live to Western Sydney.
Truth To Power Cafe will run from March 11 - March 13 at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta. The Western’s own editor Mark Mariano will be performing. Tickets and more information at https://riversideparramatta.com.au/show/truthtopower/
