The Stonecutters: 'GOODBYE FOR NOW, NOT FOREVER'

The Stonecutters announced a new tagline in light of their shop closing. Stonecutters the Barbershop and recently opened Estate 88 have been forced to close business during this time of uncertainty. The team had posted a statement ensuring that the health of the community was more important than running the business.
‘This is bigger than our business, it’s bigger than making money’.
Kevin, Terry, and Allen had recently joined forces to create SPACE, which would’ve been a first in the Western suburbs. Like other co-working spaces, they hoped to help the community work on the go with a seemingly aesthetic working environment.

On Sunday, 22 March, the Stonecutters hosted their last event, which would have been the first trial of many workshops, events, and community gatherings to be hosted in the recently closed space. MK Makeup collaborated with Spektra Therapy’s Rachel Guanzon to host a makeup workshop - ‘Learn How To Transform Your Makeup: From Basic To BEAMING!’
With COVID-19 precautions fully in swing, numbers had dropped for the launch of the trial workshop. Thankfully in desperate times, the surrounding community was able to support the local business.
If there’s ever a time when women are able to bond and build each other up most, it’s when they’re getting ready. Thanks to Michelle from MK Makeup, lucky girlfriends had the opportunity to do that as they learnt some tips and tricks on how to transition from an everyday makeup look into a glamorous night look.
With SPACE transformed into the ultimate beauty and relaxation station, it was easy to forget about the outside world for a moment and just be present with one another. From the complimentary rosé when you walked in, to facial massages and catch ups with long-time friends, it was the perfect little escape from the chaos of COVID-19.
Mothers, sisters, and friends alike all chatting while touching up their natural look, Michelle and Rachel created the most relaxing and welcoming environment. Running off the positive vibes, no compliment was left unsaid nor Instagram picture opportunity untaken.
SPACE will be missed for a while, but the hospitality, memories, and good vibes of the day will not be forgotten.
